On October 23, 2007, sixteen members of the New Democrat Coalition, led by the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, requested that "the House take action this year to resolve the immediate talent crisis that is facing U.S. employers." The group is pushing for reform that would increase H1B and employment based permanent residence, or "green card" quotas, before Congress adjourns this year.
Any IV updates on this ?
Yet again we have H1B and GC issues together , does this mean there is no chance that this would succeed ?

Now I have a question?
My H1 is valid till May 2010 but not stamped. I have AP with me. If I go to India and come back on AP, I will still be on H1 and can even extend beyond 2010. If this is valid, then I think I do not have to get my visa stamped. That will be cool.
I am also planning to do that. I think we can do that but I will clarify with my attorney next week.

Hello all,
I had a question: My and my wife's 485 ND is august 27 from TSC. We haven't got any FP notice yet.
Is anyone in a similar situation? data indicates that most of the august notice dates applicants have already got their FP appointments. I am from NJ so newark must be my ASC.
Should I call USCIS or wait?
Any suggestions are welcomed...

Hi
Did anyone go to San Jose ASC at Charcot drive for their Biometrics?
I would appriciate if you can share your experience, in trems of, what time of the day did you go, was it crowded, how long did you wait, are the kids allowed inside, ease of the bio metrics process, have you been there before your actual appointment date, if yes what time of the day did you go and how soon were you done.
Also if your LUD changed after the appointment and did you call the FBI number to verify whether the prints were right?

Thanks for the replies, I did not get my approval notice so far and the travel is around the corner.
Take infopass and get I-551 stamp in your passport. Print out your online status and when you speak to an IO explain the situation. It is risky to leave the states at this point.

It is certainly possible that the response was based only on the information available online, but there is no way to know for sure. That is why it is important to get written confirmation that USCIS rec'd your RFE response.

Can you please tell me what is "Letter of Acquirement�'
My company is Acquired too, the New Employer just gave me a Letter Copy
explaining the Merger, do Official docs were shared with me.
From whom did u get this letter.

if your application is ready to get a visa you will get it , we cant force USCIS to do some things neither its a defined process that application SHOULD be preadjudicated its like a best practice

I have one year left on my second H1. I am EB3, Canadian born category. Just got I-140 approved last week or so. I've been working here in California for the same employer for 6 years. My PD is Nov 04. I feel like I've taken a big career hit.

Can't answer all your questions but here is what I did. I had been working for the same company for five years. My priority date was Sept. ' 02. I finally got a 45 day letter in March '05. I decided not to remain hostage to the green card process. I changed my job mid-2005. Refiled all the paperwork. I was in my 5th year of H1B. You are in a better situation than me because your I-140 has been approved and having worked there for six years you might be able to convince them not to revoke it if you change your job.
I suggest you write down all your career and personal goal for next five years. Prioritize. Act on whatever takes precedence. Be very honest because you will need to face the consequences, job satisfaction vs delayed green card.

Thanks so much for your reply. I think it will always a good idea to keep USCIS inform about your working condition since this is 'Employment based' case.

All PERMS are being processed at Atlanta! hence the pile up!
My friend applied for PERM on April 1st and got approved yesterday.
