Hello All
My employer paid me for my 485 application,he gave me his personal checks in the name of uscis, i applied with those checks, now i hear that
"The Address Printed On your checks Must Match the adress given in work sheets[in 485]"
I am confused,will they accept the application,checks are not cashed yet,applied on july18th
Please Help

Maybe somebody else from here can answer from their experience. But here is what I know from my readings in USCIS press releases related to the infamous July Fiasco.
1.
On July 23rd USCIS published a QA and it specifically addresses the issue regarding Fee.

Q7: Which fees apply to I-765 and I-131 applications associated with AOS applications filed on or after July 30th under the July Bulletin?
A7. The fee of $180 for Forms I-765 and the fee of $170 for Form I-131 will remain in effect for those aliens eligible to file an employment-based adjustment of status application pursuant to July Visa Bulletin No. 107. These fees will remain in effect for all such applications filed between July 17 � August 17, 2007.

You have to keep on paying the fees for i765.
2.
What is the confusion here? Do as what the instruction says. It is pretty elaborate.
Copy of your respective passport pages.
I think there was some wiki's somewhere listing the documents to send for EAD.

Now I have the following questions:
1) I am confused about the filing fee for EAD. Some say Filing fee is dependent on your 485 filign date.
For example, on usics website under 'Special Instructions' it says (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=73ddd59cb7a5d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D)
"If you filed a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, on July 30, 2007, or after, then no fee is required to file a request for employment authorization on Form I-765. You may file the I-765 concurrently with your I-485, or you may submit the I-765 at a later date."
Does that mean I donot have to pay any fee to USICS for EAD application?
2)What are the documents I have to submit along with I-485 receipt, I-94 copy & 2 photos?
On the I-765Instr document it says
"You must submit a copy of your Federal Government-issued identity document, such as a passport showing your picture, name and date of birth; a birth certificate with photo ID; a visa issued by a foreign consulate; or a national ID document with photo and/or fingerprint.The identity document photocopy must clearly show the facial feature of the applicant and the boigraphical information."
Which document I should provide as per the above statement?
3)What is the EAD application current processing time for Nebraska as I am in California and have to apply to NSC(Nebraska)?

The USCIS looks at the EAD eligibility option. And that option is there as I-485 applicant. (also this is a must field on the EAD application online where as the visa status is not)
But on the current visa status there is no option saying that you are an adjustee and so the CS person (She was not sure) said that visa status considered is the last applied visa status. So if you were on H1B its better to put H1B. I also saw this on a website somewhere.

I guess USCIS is counting 90 days from the notice date though USCIS website clearly state that the 90 days are from filing. I called USCIS several times and every time i got the answer that the system is not allowing them to file service request as 90 days are not completed.
My lawyers also replied and said that the USCIS is counting 90 days from notice date.

Filed - July 26th
RD - July 27th
Notice Date - Aug 31st
FP - Oct 10th
LUD on 485 - Oct 18th
No LUD on AP/EAD yet.

well the status quo isn't that bad, is it? Gradually, retrogression will reduce. Now that there is no labor sub, there will be roughly a FIFO system. Plus, no increase in H1B should help the future --- as far as retorgression is concerned. another big plus is that current H1B system is intact. This bill would have driven thousands out of H1B status.

Actually it would have been greater mess if they would have allowed to file 500 to 700k persons if that number is correct. Mainly those who are missing the bus due to marriage and other reasons would have suffered a lot. PD date movement
should be as accurate as possible or gc number should be increased. Or if they allow to file everyone then processing of application should be based on PD.

I feel stupid replying to this totally irrelevant thread, but I will reply any way. Your bill is for two and a half months duration. That makes it a monthly bill of around $350-360 or so. These are winter months, meaning you must be operating heater full time. If you heater is on a "always on" setting instead of "auto" setting, and you happen to keep any windows in your apartment open all the time,then that alone is sufficient to do you for. Also, if your kitchen burners/oven run on electricity instead of gas, that could also jack up the bill. Taking into account all these factors, it does not sound all that unreasonable, does it? Just check these points before shouting murder.

Costco is the best place to get photoes.They took our photos and rest of my colleagues photos upto the standards.Anywhere should be ok.Just mention them that ur facial features look clear and good.I showed the photos for visa application which i took in india as sample to them.Those were clear .So they followed the standards.

This is a very common issue. Most of the times the HR title and job title and Labor title do not match.
I know it is a common issue for anybody. But if USCIS goes strictly, then it is a problem.
